Located in the Far Rockaway neighborhood of Queens, this 9-story affordable housing project will include approximately 225 affordable senior residential units, as well as a 13,000 SF school with basketball gym, and 10,000 SF of commercial retail space. A full cellar level will include utilities, building support spaces, and parking spaces.
Paul A. Castrucci, Architects has designed an energy efficient building that combines a Passive House thermal envelope, energy recovery ventilation, VOC and asthmagen free building materials, and high-efficiency electric appliances throughout the structure. The resulting structure is intended to be both environmentally sensitive and financially prudent with the goal of providing unparalleled comfort to its community.
