The Main Office for the creative agency Box Studios/KiDS Creative is situated in the Landmarked Reynolds Wrap aluminum factory, a 100-year old structure on Manhattan’s Westside on 25th Street.

On this project, one of several with this client, the desire for an “open” and “clean” office space was always at odds with the necessary mechanical equipment and existing structure. In an effort to achieve a sensible balance between these two, Paul A. Castrucci Architect coordinated with a variety of subcontractors and trades, to an uncommon degree, to meet extremely rigorous aesthetic standards. In the end, the project achieves its aims perfectly: the historical nature of the building, and the systems required for its functioning are present in the space, but only as specters occupying the upper reaches of this open and minimal office space.
