COVID-19 Volunteer Response Partnership

WHO WE ARE:

The COVID-19 Volunteer Response Partnership is a consortium of professionals from the architecture, engineering, and urban planning community. A principal goal of the network is to utilize a collective knowledge base to support existing and future relief efforts. Currently, we are looking for opportunities to help.

GOALS & EFFORTS:

In addition to the immediate issues facing health care workers inside of hospitals, large portions of the population are vulnerable to a plethora of challenges as the full effects of the pandemic take shape. One area in particular, is housing. Hotels and other housing providers have stepped up alongside local governments to provide short term housing for health care workers and those in quarantine, but longer-term solutions will also be necessary for many – especially those who are vulnerable to eviction after several months without work.

We are looking for ways to support in the creation of solutions to both near-term and long-term housing challenges that will inevitably arise. Our capabilities include data analytics, mapping, research, and policy analysis.   As a group, we have considerable experience with the design of affordable and supportive housing:  We are capable of providing technical review and feasibility assessment of specific built environment approaches (i.e. the use of outer borough hotels as emergency supportive housing) to these ongoing stresses.

JOIN THE VOLUNTEER PARTNERSHIP

Click here to join the volunteer partnership in any capacity. The more volunteer groups, the greater the chance we can be plugged into the effort to meet this incredible challenge.

Note – we welcome firms and individuals to join the effort. If you are in the position to put the weight of your firm behind this effort (i.e. you are a partner), please indicate that.

Please also feel free to limit/qualify the amount of support you are able to give: we understand that we all have many other obligations/priorities at this time.
