In partnership with the leadership at Riseboro (http://www.riseboro.org), PCA is proud to give an update for the affordable Woodlawn Senior Housing project.

Located in the Bronx, NY, this 5-story, 45,000 SF project was deemed essential by the State of New York as it helps to provide for the essential housing and care of the City’s elderly residents.

Now in construction, the 80-units of Affordable Independent Residence for Seniors (also known as ‘AIRS’), provides a healthy and safe home environment for its residents. The project, designed by PCA to meet Passive House standards, dramatically reduces both energy consumption and operational costs while providing superior air quality and occupant comfort. Lifestyle improvements include the creation of meaningful social spaces for impromptu conversations, exterior gathering spaces, and onsite social services.

This week’s inspection of the Exterior Insulation and Finish System (EIFS), is a critical part of the team’s quality control process.  Working with the contractor, our team carefully reviewed the EIFS mockup to insure that the installation meets the ambitious insulation, air-sealing, waterproofing and aesthetic performance requirements.

This project is scheduled for completion in October 2021.

PCA continues its mission to provide the very best possible living and working environments for all New Yorkers.
